In March Emerald Ant partnered with the National Gallery of Art in Sarajevo on the project ‘Celebrating Diversity’, funded by the British Council. Inspired by the photo exhibition, ‘The True Story of Carnival’ by Bandele Iyapo, artist Sarah Butterworth joined colleagues Aida Sarac and Cecila Hajzler to lead 11 carnival workshops with different groups; young people with visual impairments, groups with special educational needs, primary school children, teenagers, arts students and older adults. The group put on a colourful carnival procession and ended the residency with a discussion day for museum pedagogues looking at ‘Inclusion through Art’.
