Calling All at Leigh Park!
A caravan of Saucepan Ponies will be trotting around Leigh Park, Wimborne on Thursday 27th of August, 6pm-8pm.
Following workshops with local children and families, the ponies (rocking horses, hobby horses, puppets) will tour the estate and sing the newly written Saucepan Pony song.
To join in the parade, meet us at the Leigh Park Family Hub at 5.45pm before we head off at 6pm and if you made a hat at one of our workshops, don’t forget to wear it!
Warm up your voice and sing the song (songsheets provided) or watch from your windows and doorsteps, as this magical caravan passes by and serenades in the early evening.
If the weather is poor, join us indoors at Leigh Park Family Hub, for an indoor parade and some pony orientated games from 6pm.
There will be pony decorating with ribbons and frills, and a rehearsal for anyone who wants to join in on Wednesday 26th of August from 2pm-5pm. Meet at the Leigh Park Family Hub. You can still take part in the parade if you can’t make the rehearsal.
Children should be accompanied by parents/caregivers.
We can’t wait to see you there!

Drop in to a creative exploratory day and tell us what special item from home you would take on an adventure or share what makes a ‘home’ to you.
Exploratory Days: Tuesday 4th and Thursday 6th of August – 10.30am to 12.30pm and 2pm to 4pm
Then join us at one of our workshops where we’ll be turning those ideas into hobby horses, hats and songs!
Workshops: Tuesday 11th and Thursday 20th August – 10.30am to 12.30pm and 2pm to 4pm.
Finally, come along to the Pony Parade on Thursday 27th of August, 6pm to 8pm – dress up, join in and follow the Saucepan Ponies on a wonderful wander around the streets of Leigh Park.
There will also be a rehearsal on Wednesday 26th August, 2-5pm for those who can make it, but if you can’t make the rehearsal, you can still join in on the day.
All workshops and exploratory days take place at Leigh Park Family Hub and are free.
Workshops and events are for everyone, regardless of age but parents or caregivers must accompany their children.
