Emerald Ant is thrilled to bring you the new Glow Badbury film. This is a celebration of our schools and community project and night-time event on Badbury Rings in September 2023.

Glow Badbury is community arts project celebrating Badbury Rings, an Iron Age hillfort near Wimborne in East Dorset. It is an Emerald Ant project, delivered in partnership with National Trust Kingston Lacy, who own and manage the land.
Funding for this project has come from the National Lottery Heritage Fund, the National Trust and Dorset Council.
In May children from 5 schools in East Dorset came to Badbury Rings to learn about its Iron and Bronze Age archaeology, as well as its special grassland habitat on Cranborne Chase. Find out more about the school field visits and what the children discovered. Over the following months children and the local community worked with 11 artists to interpret the site’s heritage. Their artworks then formed an illuminated trail event on Badbury Rings on 29th and 30th September. 686 people came to experience the event, under a full September moon.

We are often asked about the animated film for the Woodland Cathedral artwork. The film enjoyed a special public screening at the Wimborne Town of Culture Opening Event in February 2026. Sarah and Tom ran a stop animation workshop in memory of Glow Badbury, called ‘Any Kind of Beast’.
